Professionally, I received my BS from Kent State University in Ohio and my masters from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I also hold a Technology Specialist endorsement. My teaching background includes five years teaching 3rd grade, two years teaching 4th, two teaching 5th and one teaching 6th as well as preschool work, tutoring and substitute teaching. While I began teaching in North Olmsted (OH), I also taught in Berwyn, Palatine and Highland Park (IL).
After taking a break to be a stay at home mom (and a move to East Peoria), I began in District 86's libraries and found my way into the technology there. For many years I was the district technology trainer. My title has now expanded to that of district assessment coordinator and technology integration specialist. Personally, I live in East Peoria with my husband of 43 years, our two dogs, Scout and Riley, and our recently adopted cat Marshall. My husband is retired military and spends his time working with Scout, a Brittany and a pheasant hunter, his amateur radio hobby and various projects (usually electronics or Constructables). Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering at CIRT (Central Illinois Riding Therapy), technology, reading and music. We have two grown daughters who live in East Peoria as well. What a great community in which to live, work and play! |
